As a young child, he could always be found with a pencil in his hand, creating caricature drawings from his imagination. Yers later, he was encouraged by his mother to begin oil painting: a hobby she had enjoyed for many years. Brad created landscape & wildlife paintings for a few yers until he discovered his passion for woodcarving. His work includes 3-d sculpting of animals & native art, as well as relief carving.<br />

He moved to Chester with his family and at the age of 18 made his first model and had his uncle build the 28 foot sloop. Over the years he built many fine boats, schooners, ketches, and mototboats 35 to 44 feet. Boats were designed and built for Chester, Canada, USA, England and Southern waters. The "Roshell" was designed for the Marblehead Race and is the only sloop that ever won the event.
