Born in 1960 Siimon was raised in Chester. He completed a BA at King's College in Halifax before going to Christie's in London to study the fine and decorative While his dream of becoming a picture dealer didn't work out,he did gain from his exposure to the fine and decorative when he later took up painting. A year working at the Vermont Studio Centre in Johnson, Vermont was also crucial to his development, helped by the crits of acclaimed artists from around the world. He lives in Halifax and paints with the occasional foray into graphic design
